Job summary

Eucalyptus, London HQ, seeks a senior engineering leader to unify two engineering orgs into one high‑performing team and run the London site. You will partner with UK commercial and product leaders, reporting to the Sydney CTO, with a distributed, async‑friendly approach across time zones.

You will drive architecture… and mentoring at scale, shaping value‑driven delivery while enabling engineers to join and stay in a fast‑paced, ambitious environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience developing managers and leading an engineering org of 30+ people.
• Experience guiding large structural changes such as integrations or reorganisations.
• Familiar with AI tooling and its impact on team workflows.
• Commercial fluency: ability to discuss revenue, margins, and prioritisation clearly.
• Experience building and scaling systems from the ground up.
• Able to partner credibly with senior engineers and prototype technically when needed.

Responsibilities

• Unify two engineering organisations into a single, high-performing team of ~35–50 engineers.
• Run the London site and provide senior leadership for global teams across time zones.
• Translate commercial priorities into engineering plans and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Shape product strategy by instilling strong product instincts across the management team.
• Lead senior hiring in London and set quality standards for engineering managers.
