Job summary

IWSR is seeking an Engineering Director to lead the technology function, own the technology roadmap, and drive delivery across client platform, internal tooling, and data pipelines. You will shape what gets built, maintain high architectural standards, and engage with senior researchers and product teams to align goals.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background with ability to discuss architecture and infrastructure.
• Experience delivering technology in data-heavy or research-focused products.
• Excellent stakeholder management across research, product and engineering.
• Genuine interest in practical AI applications within engineering teams.
• Comfort working in a small team while setting strategic direction.

Responsibilities

• Own technology roadmap in partnership with the CPO and translate commercial needs into delivery plans.
• Lead delivery across client platform, tooling, data pipelines and new data products.
• Foster AI enablement across the engineering organisation and drive practical AI bets.
• Maintain high engineering standards, deliberate architectural decisions, and clear documentation.
• Support hiring and development of the engineering team.
