Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an analytical engineer to support the route asset management team with data analysis and performance monitoring. The role involves engaging with multiple data sources to provide insights and actionable recommendations.

You will contribute to decision support tools, maintain data accuracy, and support cross-disciplinary analyses to meet regulatory requirements. The position is based at Shrewsbury with permanent, full-time employment and a salary band of £31k-£33k.

Qualifications

  • Significant analytical experience in an engineering organisation.
  • Understanding of information systems and data handling.
  • Degree in Engineering or another numerate discipline.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Experience in rail environment is desirable.
  • Experience in civil engineering projects or contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering data analytical support to the route asset management team.
  • Monitor asset performance using KPIs, analyse trends and escalate issues.
  • Contribute to development and use of engineering decision support tools.
  • Provide data support for cross-discipline analysis to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out special engineering analyses as required.
  • Assist in managing supplier workbanks and internal asset management databases.
  • Develop internal and external performance reports from multiple data sources.
