Job summary

Network Rail in Milton Keynes is seeking an ambitious engineer to join our Asset Management team. You will work on inspecting assets, analyzing condition trends and contributing to repair or renewal strategies while building technical expertise.

The successful candidate will hold an HNC/HND in engineering, have NR Asset Management exposure, and strong data analysis, reporting and presentation skills to contribute in committee meetings.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil or Structural).
  • Some experience in Network Rail Asset Management.
  • Understanding of relevant policies and standards.
  • Strong data analysis, reporting and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support inspection and assessment of railway assets and maintenance trends.
  • Identify repair or renewal requirements based on asset condition.
  • Provide technical support and develop engineering knowledge through training.

About the role

What does the average day look like?

An average day involves supporting the inspection and assessment of railway assets, reviewing asset condition and maintenance trends, and helping to identify repair or renewal requirements. The role also includes providing technical support, developing engineering knowledge through training and practical experience, and maintaining records of professional development and progress.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual who is keen to progress their career within railway engineering and work towards professional qualifications. Applicants should hold an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, have some experience in Network Rail Asset Management, and possess an understanding of relevant policies and standards.
