Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UK's Defence & Homeland Security. As an Experienced DSP/FPGA Consultant at Awerian, you will be at the forefront of this innovation race by helping to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.
Your work will have a real-world impact. You will get to explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multi-disciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists, engineers, and designers. You'll see ideas become a reality as you create prototypes through Awerian's rapid approach to design and implementation. It's a fantastically challenging, varied, and agile role.
Every day, you will be operating at the boundary of technological exploration by inventing new solutions and enhancing existing hardware. Typically, this will involve analysis, computational modelling, prototype design, invention, laboratory testing, process development, and manufacturing.
Your problem-solving skills will be enhanced as you tackle complex electronic engineering challenges that test your deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles beyond pure electronics. You will also have many opportunities to expand your skillset into different areas, based on what interests you.
Requirements
You will ideally have 10+ years relevant experience working in Digital Signal Processing algorithm development on FPGA architectures, have a proven track record of design and implementation of technological solutions and leading projects. You will likely to have held a senior / principal engineer or equivalent position within the UK Defence sector.
In addition, experience in any of the following is desirable:
RADAR or communications applications
OpenCPI
Software Defined Radios (SDRs)
Electronics development
RF design
Embedded software development and software architecting
Project leadership
Team mentoring
