Job summary

GSK Barnard Castle seeks an experienced Capital Projects Programme Manager to lead complex capital investments in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. You will manage a portfolio from concept to handover, ensuring scope, quality, cost and schedule alignment with operations, engineering, quality, EHS and finance, while guiding cross-functional teams and governance submissions.

The role requires strong technical judgement, project governance, financial awareness, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Relevant degree-qualification (eg; Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related technical discipline) and / or strong relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability/knowledge in engineering and project delivery (ideally gained from working within a highly-regulated industry).
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Experience managing internal stakeholders, as well as external partners, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Capital Portfolio management (£8–£14M annual spend) and align with site priorities.
• Develop multifunctional project teams with GSK employees, contractors and partners.
• Provide leadership across all project lifecycle phases from concept to handover.
• Ensure compliance with PMF, Project Controls, Finance Manual and governance expectations.
• Drive performance through managing scope, cost, schedule, risks and change control.
• Build strong relationships with operations, quality, technical, supply chain and EHS stakeholders.
