Job summary

Delta Hotels by Marriott Peterborough is hiring an Engineering Assistant to help keep the property in top condition. You’ll tackle maintenance tasks, touch up paint, fix leaks and assist with guest areas to ensure a safe, comfortable stay for all guests.

With a practical, hands-on attitude and some experience in painting, plumbing and general maintenance, you’ll be a reliable part of our hotel team. Weekend shifts may apply and a supportive environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, painting and/or plumbing.
• Practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to help.
• Good problem-solving and proactive approach.
• Team player who contributes to guest-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Perform painting touch-ups and basic maintenance tasks.
• Fix leaks and handle general repair requests.
• Assist with upkeep of guest areas, bedrooms and facilities.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness to ensure guest comfort.

Engineering Assistant – Full Time | 40 Hours per Week

Are you the sort of person who sees a dripping tap and thinks, I can fix that!?

Does a fresh coat of paint make you strangely happy?

Can you tell the difference between a spanner and a screwdriver?

If you’ve got a practical, can-do attitude and a bit of experience in painting, plumbing and general maintenance, we’d love to hear from you!

As our Engineering Assistant, you’ll help keep our hotel looking its best and running smoothly. From fixing those little jobs that just can’t wait, to keeping guest areas, bedrooms and facilities in tip‑top condition, you’ll be an important part of the team.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Some experience in general maintenance, painting and/or plumbing
• A practical person who enjoys getting stuck in
• Good problem-solving skills and a let's get it sorted attitude
• Someone who takes pride in their work
• A team player who understands that in a hotel, the little things make a big difference.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

One day you might be touching up some paintwork, the next you could be fixing a leaky tap or helping with a general maintenance job. No two days are quite the same!

Most importantly, you’ll help make sure our guests have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay.

40 hours a week. Full time. Plenty of variety. And a team that appreciates a person who knows their way around a toolbox.
