Wage

£14,722.50 to £23,809.50, depending on your age

Training course

Mechatronics maintenance technician (level 3)

Hours

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 37 hours 30 minutes a week

Your training course
  • Use information technology for documentation, communication, and information management.
  • Read and interpret task-related documentation such as work instructions, manuals, and drawings.
  • Record information including job sheets, risk assessments, and maintenance records.
  • Conduct initial assessments of equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Formulate maintenance plans with timescales and resources.
  • Select, prepare, and use materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, PPE, and safe systems of work.
  • Apply risk assessment and hazard mitigation principles.
  • Apply isolation principles during maintenance activities.
  • Manufacture, repair, and refurbish components using hand and machine tools.
  • Restore the workplace after maintenance and hand over resources.
  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on complex engineered systems.
  • Produce and maintain documentation, including PLC and robot programmes.
  • Apply functional testing, condition monitoring, and non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Perform calculations related to feeds, speeds, tolerances, and electrical parameters.
  • Select and calibrate testing and measuring equipment.
  • Create sketches or drawings to support maintenance activities.
  • Communicate in writing and verbally, including reports and negotiations.
  • Manage waste streams and apply housekeeping principles.
  • Identify operational improvements and apply continuous improvement techniques.
  • Follow equity, diversity, and inclusion procedures.
  • Record learning activities and apply fault-finding techniques on complex systems.

Minimum requirements
