Job Description:
Imperial Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a high-profile client to appoint a permanent Engineering and Maintenance (E&M) Manager.
Location: Stockton
Type: Permanent
Overview of the role:
The E&M Manager will serve as the site’s Appointed Person for EC&I matters, ensuring compliance with business, client, and legislative requirements. They will lead and manage the site’s E&M philosophy, strategy, and operations, overseeing the E&M departments and maintenance teams to ensure personnel competence, safety, and operational standards.
Key duties include:
- Managing the EC&I department support for plant issues and projects.
- Serving as the Appointed Person for E&M, ensuring process and system compliance, risk management, and effective communication.
- Providing guidance during major engineering events, outages, and incidents.
- Developing and monitoring technical specifications, policies, and procedures throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Supporting team development, conducting performance appraisals, and setting objectives.
- Understanding HSE principles for maintaining a COMAH site and compliance with related regulations.
- Having knowledge of Cyber Security, IACS, and NIS Regulations.
- Conducting disciplinary hearings and reviewing departmental processes for continuous improvement.
- Approving maintenance programs and managing budgets responsibly.
- Maintaining a CMMS for equipment management.
- Ensuring design and construction meet industry standards.
- Auditing procedures and systems for improvement.
- Providing technical support and resolving plant issues.
- Managing contracts and supporting client projects.
- Participating in cross-site forums and sharing information.
- Following safe working practices and relevant training.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in process, fuel terminal, refinery, or power generation sectors, including maintenance, contract management, outage management, and operational policies.
- People management experience, cross-functional collaboration, and working in a 24/7 environment.
- Building relationships with customers and contractors.
- Project management experience with budget and KPI oversight.
- Knowledge of SHE systems, quality systems, maintenance management, HAZOPs, LOPA, safety standards, and process safety management.
- Completion of company induction for this role.
