Job summary

TÜV SÜD in the UK is seeking an Engineer Surveyor to perform statutory inspections of lifting equipment across the Birmingham to Leicester area. You will coordinate with the planning team to ensure efficient routes and timely delivery of inspections to meet contractual obligations.

The role requires lifting equipment inspection expertise, strong IT skills, and the ability to work unsupervised while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A recognised Mechanical/Electrical qualification is highly advantageous (NVQ 3 minimum).
• Demonstrable experience in the Lift Industry.
• Experienced engineer with Mechanical/Electrical skills.
• EOR 202/SAFed LR1.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections/examinations of lifting equipment and accessories in accordance with all statutory regulations.
• To be actively involved in stock control, data entries and other processes as required from day to day.
• Carry out LOLER / PUWER inspection on various types of Lifting Equipment.
• Complete necessary paperwork in line with the companies set procedures.
• Building rapport with clients, providing excellent customer service.
• Complete site inspection reports in line with applicable Regulations.
• Adhering to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
• Other duties as required.

We are now looking for an Engineer Surveyor to join our team of experts. You will be responsible for carrying out all Statutory Inspections at customer locations in a timely manner to ensure compliance of each piece of equipment. You will also liaise with the planning team to ensure effective and efficient routes for delivery of each inspection to meet our contractual obligations.

The scope of this role is Birmingham to Leicester area.

Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Criteria

• A recognised Mechanical/Electrical qualification is highly advantageous (NVQ 3 minimum)

• Excellent IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• A team player with a positive “can-do” attitude who actively and positively engages with colleagues with a proactive approach to change and self-development.
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Full UK Driving Licence
