Job summary

British Engineering Services Group seeks an Electrical Engineer Surveyor to support EICR inspections across Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverness, ensuring electrical safety and regulatory compliance. You will evaluate fixed wiring, inspect electrical plant items and deliver thorough reports to keep customers safe and compliant.

Starting salary £40,500 with uplifts after 1 and 2 years, plus a £5,500 car allowance, travel time pay, pension contributions and generous leave.

Qualifications

  • Ideally Level 4 electrical/engineering qualification with practical experience as electrician
  • Alternatively Level 3 electrical qualification with willingness to progress to Level 4
  • Testing and inspection experience (City and Guilds 2391 ideal)
  • Experience in hazardous area work (CompEX)
  • Good IT literacy to complete detailed customer reports via tablets and mobile devices

Responsibilities

  • Complete quality assessments and inspections of fixed wiring installations and electrical plant
  • Prepare detailed reports with accuracy and clarity
  • Ensure customers comply with UK safety regulations including EAW
  • Provide high level customer service and represent the company professionally

ENGINEER SURVEYOR (ELECTRICAL)

Our expert teams carry out hundreds of essential Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and other critical inspections every day, helping customers stay compliant and protected. Alongside this, we are a leading specialist in Electric Vehicle (EV) charging solutions, managing everything from end‑to‑end installation through to ongoing routine safety inspections.

For this role we are looking for an Electrical Engineer Surveyor to live in between or in an area easily commutable to Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverness.

What will you be doing?

As an Electrical Engineer Surveyor forBritish Engineering Servicesyou will be helping to prolong the life and safety of electrical equipment by spotting any potential defects as early as possible and helping make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

You will:

  • Completing quality assessments and rigorous inspections of fixed wiring installations and electrical plant items
  • Carrying out detailed reporting, with no compromise, ever
  • Ensuring all customers are compliant with vital regulations that help to govern their industry in the UK (including EAW)
  • Always provide the exceptional level of customer service expected from our team, whilst representing our brilliant company professionally
As part of our team, you will get:
  • A minimum standard starting salary of £40,500, depending on experienceand location
  • Salary uplifts after one and two-years continuous services
    • Moving to £48,236 after one year,
    • Moving to £53,466 after 2 years' service

To join our team, you will need:
  • Ideally, a Level 4 electrical / engineering qualification and a good level of practical experience as a domestic and/or industrial electrician
  • Alternatively, a Level 3 electrical qualification and a significant level of practical experience as a domestic and/or industrial electrician, alongside the willingness to work towards a Level 4 qualification
  • Testing and inspection experience (City and Guilds 2391 would be ideal)
  • Experience in hazardous area work (CompEX)
  • The ability to communicate complex and technical problems with ease
  • A good level of IT and literacy skills in order to complete detailed customer reports via tablets and mobile phones
