Job Role: Mechanical Engineer

Location: HMP Highdown (SM2)

Salary: £41,818.21 + an additional 5% salary in recognition of shift and weekend working.

Contract: Full Time - Perm

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Highdown, a category C male prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS, seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in:

• At least two years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
• Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
• Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
• Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
• Qualifications: C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
• Strong health and safety knowledge
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
