Join us as a Field Service Engineer at ABB

This position reports to the Service Execution Manager and involves visiting customer sites for breakdown repair, servicing, preventative maintenance, calibration, and installation of ABB Measurement & Analytics products. The role may require 24x7 service coverage on a rota basis and factory-based repairs. Travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas, including overnight stays, is expected. The preferred location for the candidate is in the East of England.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with customers on-site to identify operational improvements and resolve issues.
• Performing field service tasks, troubleshooting, and analysis remotely or on-site.
• Preparing and managing materials, parts, and equipment for service activities.
• Addressing equipment/process failures and recommending corrective actions.
• Developing customer relationships and ensuring satisfaction with service solutions.
• Supporting the development and deployment of ABB Ability Digital Service Solutions.
• Working with the support team to develop service solutions and training materials.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and customer safety expectations.

Qualifications:

• ONC/HNC qualification in instrumentation, measurement control, or equivalent, or recognized apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
• Proficient in PC skills and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible approach and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Water/Power Utilities, Food & Beverage, Chemical & Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas industries preferred.
• Experience with Water Analyzers is advantageous.
• Valid UK driving license and passport are required.
