Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Drill & Blast Engineer to join the Mount Pleasant operation near Singleton, Newcastle. You will design and load drill and blast programs, coordinating with the mine planning team to deliver designs and schedules that support the mine plan, and manage explosives orders on site.

Collaboration with the drill and blast crew, a drive for continuous improvement, and strict adherence to safety practices are essential as you contribute to high-quality outcomes on site.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ site experience in an operational mining engineering capacity (open cut preferred).
• Experience with Blast Logic, Vulcan or similar software.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
• Commitment to health and safety best practices.

About The Role

As our next Drill & Blast Engineer reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results. The Drill and Blast Engineer will be responsible for drill and blast designs and loading. This role will work closely mine planning team to provide designs and schedules to support the execution of the mine plan. Key duties also include:

• Loading and tie up design – product selection to maximise fragmentation

About You
