Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain technical relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - What you’ll do:

Deliverables include:

  • Training internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Supporting Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitoring customer incidents and reporting on nominated accounts.
  • Highlighting trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Managing documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services (TCS).
  • Following internal and external processes for tasks, reporting, and changes, including documentation updates.
  • Assisting with PoC scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Creating TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Peer reviewing engineering documentation.
  • Pre-staging equipment for projects or installations.
  • Attending customer meetings such as support reviews, project roadmaps, and incident reviews.
  • Accurately submitting timesheets and expenses.
  • Linking certifications and training to business objectives.
  • Adhering to GDPR and security policies.

Cloud Engineer - Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. We will support your development in these areas. You should have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience in support environments (IT Managed Service). On-premise Cloud Services experience is also desirable.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking Concepts knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, with clustering and availability groups
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and above
  • VMware vCloud Director knowledge
