Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers the chance to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between engineering and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include:

  • Training internal staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Supporting Professional Services and Sales within Network Services.
  • Monitoring customer incidents and reporting on accounts.
  • Highlighting trends, security threats, or technical bulletins impacting customers.
  • Managing documentation related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Following internal and external processes for tasks, reporting, and changes.
  • Assisting with PoC scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Creating TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Peer reviewing engineering documentation.
  • Pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Attending customer meetings such as support reviews and incident reviews.
  • Submitting accurate timesheets weekly.
  • Linking certifications to business objectives and maintaining them.
  • Completing and submitting overtime and expenses timely.
  • Adhering to GDPR and security policies.

Ideal candidate profile:

The successful Cloud Engineer will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some knowledge of Azure, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. We will support your development in these areas. You should have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience working in medium to large support environments, with on-premise Cloud Services experience.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Knowledge of Networking Concepts
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ (clustering, availability groups)
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016+
  • VMware vCloud Director knowledge
  • Leadership qualities and a proactive approach
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Problem-solving passion and technical curiosity
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
