An experienced Civil Engineer, you will provide technical and Health and Safety planning support to our field delivery teams. The work we deliver protects people and property from flooding and plays a vital role in protecting the environment.
Your work is fundamental to the delivery of our flood risk asset maintenance programme.Responsible for developing repair solutions and remedial actions to meet NRW asset maintenance standards. Including the planning and design of small to medium scale operational improvement projects.
The work is varied and includes supporting our team with data and financial management, issuing work, management of minor construction projects as well as maintenance of a range of flood defence structures including sluices, flood walls, embankments, gates, trash screens, culverts and pumping stations, consultation with stakeholders, contractor management and public liaison.
You will deal with a range of internal colleagues, as well as dealing with the public and external organisations.
Working in a team of experienced technical staff, you will be delivering a flood risk-based maintenance service within our South East Wales place focused team. Also, you may be involved in NRWs emergency response to flooding as a CAT 1 Responder. This will require participating in a standby rota and working in our incident rooms on occasions.
