Job description

At Tetra Tech, you’ll work on high-impact projects across the UK, helping to tackle some of the most complex environmental challenges.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As an Engineer within our Flood Risk and Sustainable Water Engineering team, you will support the delivery of a wide range of infrastructure and development projects across the UK. Working on schemes from £0.1m to £100m, you will contribute to river engineering, flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessments, and drainage strategies including SuDS and natural flood management. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early‑stage optioneering and client engagement through to detailed design and project close‑out, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business growth activities.

You will play an important role in delivering effective, sustainable flood risk and drainage solutions that support resilient communities and infrastructure. Your technical input will help clients navigate complex planning and environmental requirements, while your collaboration and mentoring will strengthen team capability and project outcomes.

Location & Working Arrangements

This role is based in the North West, preferably Manchester, with potential flexibility for other NW locations. Hybrid working is supported. Projects are UK‑wide, so occasional travel and flexibility in working hours may be required.
