Join our technical team as a multi-skilled engineer dedicated to maintaining, servicing and optimising crucial machinery across our food manufacturing facility in Rochdale.

What you will be doing

As an Engineer at our Rochdale facility, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining, servicing and repairing factory machinery to ensure production runs seamlessly and safely across rotating early and late shifts.

  • Service, maintain and repair factory equipment to achieve key performance targets, optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and meet strict technical standards.
  • Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, performing effective fault diagnosis and corrective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Execute and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance routines, using root cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Log maintenance activities via CMMS tools, manage spare parts efficiently and collaborate with cross-departmental teams without direct management responsibilities.
What you will bring

We are looking for a proactive technical professional who combines hands-on engineering skills with high standards for health, safety and continuous improvement. You will bring an analytical mindset and a strong commitment to team collaboration.

  • Experience: A background within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (food industry experience preferred), with a proven track record in carrying out preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
  • Soft skills: Clear communication abilities, effective problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset and a dedication to safety and continuous learning.
  • Hard skills: A recognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering, with strong diagnostic abilities and familiarity with CMMS reporting tools.

Joining Danish Crown in this full-time permanent position means becoming part of a supportive engineering department where your expertise directly impacts site performance.

Working a Monday to Friday schedule of rotating early and late shifts—with weekend overtime needed only on rare maintenance occasions—you will enjoy a structured working environment that respects your work-life balance.

Alongside a competitive salary, you will benefit from industry-leading holiday entitlement and an outstanding pension scheme. You will experience genuine day-to-day autonomy, regular opportunities to develop your technical capabilities and the pride that comes from helping produce food that millions of people trust.
