Job summary

UTAC group is seeking an Engine Test Technician to join their team at the Millbrook site in Bedford, UK. The successful candidate will perform a variety of engine testing, from durability to performance, and must have a strong automotive background. Responsibilities include setting up and validating engine tests, diagnosing faults, and collaborating closely with the engineering team. Qualifications

• Experience in automotive and/or testing background.
• Consideration for experienced Technicians from OEM dealerships or petrochemical testing.
• Physical ability to work in a laboratory/workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute towards engine testing, installation, and setup.
• Run tests in a cell environment for customer development programs.
• Diagnose unit faults in collaboration with the Engineering team.

Skills

Strong Health and Safety awareness

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine fundamentals

Understanding of engine support systems

Automotive fault diagnostics

Basic fabrication and mechanical skills

PC Skills

Education

Formal automotive qualification / apprenticeship preferred
