Job summary

UTAC group in Bedford is seeking an Engine Test Technician for their Engine Test Centre. The successful candidate will assist in engine testing programs including durability and performance tests. Applicants should have automotive testing experience, strong health and safety awareness, and a hands-on approach. The role involves running tests, diagnosing faults, and ensuring efficient operation of testing systems. Qualifications

• Experience in automotive and/or testing background is essential.
• Experience in a testing environment or hands-on engine experience is required.
• Willingness to take responsibility for own work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and deliver engine testing programs.
• Validate engine running and associated systems in the test cell.
• Identify and diagnose unit faults with Engineering support.

Skills

Health and Safety awareness

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine fundamentals

Understanding of engine support systems

Automotive fault diagnostics

Basic fabrication and mechanical skills

Experience in test automation software (AVL PUMA, Horiba STARS)
