Position Overview

Based at the University of Warwick, this role involves supporting advanced engine testing, collaborating with engineers and academics, maintaining instrumentation, and developing testing methodologies to contribute to cutting-edge automotive research.

Responsibilities

1. Support operation of test cells for internal combustion engines.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure precise testing.
3. Install and maintain instrumentation for accurate data collection.
4. Perform maintenance on laboratory equipment.
5. Assist in developing test methodologies and technical input.
6. Share knowledge and support team training.

Qualifications

• Experience with internal combustion engines (spark and compression ignition).
• Skills in engine disassembly, assembly, and inspection.
• Proficiency in instrumentation installation and testing methods.
• Qualification such as City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Additional skills in fabrication, welding, or machining are advantageous.

Location & Shift

Based at Warwick, with a standard day shift initially, potentially moving to double shifts as skills develop.
