Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking Engine Workshop Technicians to join our Wellingborough service workshop in Northamptonshire for a permanent, on-site role from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and overhaul Cummins heavy-duty engines, following documented procedures and health and safety guidelines. You will prepare parts, assist senior technicians, complete required documentation, and participate in local training to support skill development and evolving business

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in engine strip-downs and rebuilds across a variety of engine types.
• Good communication skills for customer interactions.
• Proactive in personal development and training; adaptable to changing demands.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and diagnostic processes; use of mechanical/electronic tools to troubleshoot and document engine issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on Cummins heavy-duty engines in the workshop.
• Carry out complete engine overhauls, including disassembly, inspection, cleaning and reassembly.
• Identify and prepare required parts and tools for complex repair tasks.
• Assist senior technicians with fault diagnosis and repair planning.
• Deliver high-quality service by completing work orders, time sheets, and warranty claims on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report safety concerns.
• Participate in local workshop projects and training programs to support skill development.
