Role
Creative Assembly is looking for an Engine QA Analyst to join our team based at our studio in Horsham, West Sussex.
What you’ll be doing
On a Day-to-day Basis, You Will
- Perform detailed testing of new and updated graphics engine features, covering functionality, performance, and stability
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans tailored to engine features and in-game systems
- Conduct milestone test sweeps, identifying regressions, performance issues, and workflow blockers
- Collaborate with developers to identify automation opportunities and integrate automated checks into QA processes
- Diagnose and triage complex technical issues, producing clear and actionable bug reports and supporting root cause analysis
- Work closely with Engine, Tech Art, Tools, and QA teams to understand workflows, dependencies, and potential impact of changes
- Act as a point of contact for graphics testing, providing guidance and best practices to stakeholders
- Represent Engine QA in graphics meetings and agile ceremonies
- Produce clear, concise reporting for stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, frameworks, and documentation standards
What we are looking for
Essential
- Proven QA experience within game development or a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Previous experience in a technical QA role within games or a related software testing field
- Ability to self-manage workload and proactively identify testing priorities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, including experience writing clear documentation and reports
- Methodical and structured approach to investigating issues and following processes
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Passion for video games and a desire to contribute to the development process
Desirable
- Experience testing game engines or graphics systems
- Familiarity with Total War titles
- Experience with bug and task tracking tools such as JIRA or TestRail
- Experience testing across multiple platforms, including PC and consoles
- Knowledge of XR, TRC, and/or Technical Certification requirements
- Experience with test automation frameworks or scripting
