Job summary

Actalent in Peterborough, UK, is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to work on IC engine components, exhaust and aftertreatment systems. This predominantly onsite role covers new product introduction and updates to engine platforms, with ownership of design and development activities and collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers globally.

You will create and review 3D CAD models and drawings, lead DFMEA activities, develop validation plans and work with APQP tools, GD&T and

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Automotive background with HNC/technical degree preferred, relevant industry experience considered

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing IC engine components, exhaust and emissions/aftertreatment systems
• Developing aftertreatment modules, mounting systems and DEF mixing solutions
• Creating and reviewing 3D models, engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Leading and contributing to DFMEA/FMEA activities
• Developing validation plans and DVP&R
• Supporting component and system verification and validation
• Investigating production and field issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Working closely with suppliers using APQP tools
• Supporting design solutions involving metal fabrication, moulded components and GD&T
• Producing technical reports and functional requirement documentation.
