Job summary

The Hathershaw College via The Pinnacle Learning Trust, Oldham, in partnership with The Supply Register, is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support pupils in a secondary setting. This part-time role involves supervising classes, delivering prepared materials, and maintaining a productive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with young people, strong classroom management, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.
• Confident in managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Enthusiasm and professionalism in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across 11-16 year olds during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
• Managing classroom behaviour and engaging pupils in learning.
• Supporting pupils with their work and answering basic questions where appropriate.
• Ensuring a positive, safe and productive learning environment.
• Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and progress.
• Working collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
