Job summary

Durham County Council's Consett Junior School is seeking a Part Time Lunchtime Supervisor to supervise pupils during the lunch period, starting October 2026. The role is 6.25 hours (11.50am to 1.05pm), term-time only, with retainer adjustments for school closures.

The successful candidate will have experience with primary-aged children, be flexible, and able to work in a team and undertake training. You will promote healthy eating and a positive lunchtime environment.

• Experience of working with primary school children.
• Flexible and able to work well within a team.
• Willing to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children outdoors during lunchtime.
• Organise and implement outside games and activities to encourage enjoyment at lunchtime.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour within the school's policies.
• Respond to the different needs and interests of children.
• Promote and support a whole school approach to inclusive play.
• Work closely with lunchtime colleagues.
• Ensure children enjoy lunchtime and a healthy, relaxed environment.
