Protocol Education is recruiting an English Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in North Shields. This full-time, long-term role offers immediate and January starts, with PAYE daily rates of £163.19–£265.12 and dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.

The school combines high expectations with strong pastoral care, providing an environment where students develop reading, writing and communication skills and confidence in learning.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent qualification required.
• Degree in English or related subject.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school.
• Strong classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students to read, write and communicate confidently.
• Plan and deliver ambitious lessons for learners of all abilities.
• Monitor progress and use assessment to drive achievement.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching and learning.
• Support wider school life and contribute to the school community.
