Job summary

Connex Education are seeking confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Tameside. You will cover whole classes (25–30 students) in the absence of a teacher, bridging gaps on short-term assignments.

Role requires a degree or equivalent, strong classroom management, and reliability. DBS check and safeguarding familiarity are required or provided. Flexible start dates and locations within Tameside are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or above.
• Hold a degree or equivalent in any specialist subject.
• Good ability to effectively manage large groups of children.
• Experience of working with children and/or vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training provided).
• Engaging, confident, reliable and punctual.
• Be available 8.30am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday for 3+ days a week (term time).

Responsibilities

• Cover whole classes in the absence of a teacher.
• Bridge the gap until the staff member returns on a short-term basis.
• Work with schools across Tameside to support learners.
