Job summary

The Royal British Legion is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant at Mais House Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. You’ll plan and run engaging activities, fostering a warm, supportive environment for residents who have served and their families.

Role involves one-to-one companionship, mealtime support and driving a willingness to work across seven days. Two years’ experience and a Level 2 Award in Social Care are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Patient, empathetic and good listener with the ability to build relationships.
• Previous experience in a similar role or environment is important; around two years’ experience.
• Level 2 Award in Supporting Provision in Social Care is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of activities and events.
• Know residents’ interests, preferences and individual needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and relatives to create personalised activities.
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities.
• Support residents during mealtimes to create a relaxed dining experience.
• Provide one-to-one companionship and support.
• Accompany residents to appointments and activities.
