Job summary

Pink Tile Education Ltd in Esher, Surrey, is seeking an Engagement Mentor to support pupils aged 7-17 with SEMH and Moderate Learning Difficulties at a new specialist school starting this September.

You will build strong relationships, support engagement in learning, and help pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional regulation while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. This full-time role runs 8:30am–4:30pm and pays £108 per day on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, SEND, SEMH, care or youth work.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Encourage engagement with learning and school activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional regulation.
• Support positive behaviour and calmly manage challenging situations.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to meet individual needs.
• Create a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
