Connect2Dorset is seeking an engaged Engagement Coordinator to join the LiveWell Dorset team in Weymouth. You will act as a key ambassador, build relationships in local communities and promote health services to encourage positive lifestyle changes.

This role offers training, supports NHS Health Checks, and requires strong communication, outreach and organisational skills to deliver community-focused health interventions.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (A-C/4-9) in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills including MS Office.
  • Experience in health promotion, community engagement or one-to-one support.
  • Ability to influence positive change in community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Represent LiveWell Dorset at Weymouth hub and in local communities.
  • Deliver health interventions including blood pressure checks and tailored advice.
  • Engage with individuals/groups face-to-face and virtually; run presentations/workshops.
  • Collaborate with Training and Engagement Team to support strategic objectives.
  • Support NHS Health Checks delivery with training provided.
  • Maintain records, reports and administrative processes using IT systems.

Job Title: Engagement Coordinator
Location: Weymouth
Salary: 13.92 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (1 year)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Part-time applications of 18.5 hours will be considered)

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Engagement Coordinator to join the LiveWell Dorset team in Weymouth. This rewarding role will see you acting as a key ambassador for the service, building strong relationships within local communities, increasing awareness of the support available, and encouraging individuals to take positive steps towards improving their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Represent LiveWell Dorset at our Weymouth hub and throughout the local community, promoting the service and increasing awareness.

Deliver health interventions, including blood pressure checks, and provide tailored advice and support to encourage healthier lifestyle choices.

Engage with individuals and groups both face-to-face and virtually, delivering presentations and workshops to charities, community organisations, and underrepresented groups.

Work collaboratively with the Training and Engagement Team to support the delivery of strategic objectives and engagement initiatives.

Support the delivery of NHS Health Checks, with full training provided.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative processes using a range of IT systems.

Requirements
  • GCSEs (Grade A-C / 4-9) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and databases.
  • Previous experience in health promotion, community engagement, or providing one-to-one support.
  • A proven ability to influence positive change within community settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing demands effectively.
  • A Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement qualification (or equivalent).
Additional Information
  • Working hours will be scheduled between Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Full-time hours are 37 per week, although 18.5 hours per week will be considered for part-time applicants.
  • Training will be provided for aspects of the role, including the delivery of NHS Health Checks.
