Job summary

Teaching Personnel in the United Kingdom is seeking an Engagement Coach for our Off-Site Provision in Buntingford. You will build strong relationships with learners, re-engage disengaged students, and support them to make positive progress in education and life.

You will work with learners facing barriers such as exclusion, trauma and SEMH needs, helping to improve attendance, behaviour and participation. The role involves mentoring, safeguarding responsibilities, and collaborating with tutors

Qualifications

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk indicators.
• Experience working with young people with complex needs (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Build authentic, trusting relationships with learners.
• Re-engage students who are at risk of disengagement.
• Support learners to improve attendance, behaviour and participation.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and disclosures.
