Job summary

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is seeking an Enforcement Support Officer to support roadside inspections and road safety checks. You will help stop vehicles when required, ensuring equipment is ready and assisting with IT and clerical tasks.

The role offers a base salary with a shift allowance and generous leave, plus pension contributions and potential career development funded by the department. Flexible working options are provided.

Responsibilities

• Directing / causing vehicles to stop to enable roadside inspections.
• Ensuring equipment and vehicles are available and fit for use to support checks.
• Providing basic IT and clerical support during roadside checks and related tasks.
• Carrying out maintenance of High-Vis vehicles (oil, water, tyre pressures & condition).
• Contribute to the efficiency of roadside checks and support DVSA staff.

Salary: £35,683 – The advertised salary is inclusive of a base salary of £27,631 and a shift working allowance of £8,051. Employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Enforcement Support Officer to join our team. If you would like a job where no two days are the same and to also have the chance to make a real difference to Road Safety & Environmental Standards, then this is the role for you!

You’ll provide support by means of stopping vehicles for other enforcement staff, thus contributing to the maintenance and improvement of Road Safety & Environmental Standards.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Directing / causing vehicles to stop, using vehicles or other methods, to enable staff from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to undertake road safety inspections.
• Contributing to the efficiency of roadside checks by making sure the equipment and vehicles are available and fit for use.
• Providing basic IT and clerical support during roadside checks, and other associated tasks.
• Carrying out minimum maintenance and upkeep of “High-Viz” vehicles (oil, water, tyre pressures & condition etc).
• Employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary.
• 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days annual leave).
