Job summary

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited is seeking a Development Associate to lead energy storage project development across the UK and EU. You will drive opportunities from early development to RtB, coordinating land, grid access, permits, and M&A inputs.

The role emphasizes delivering greenfield and early development projects, collaborating with engineering, finance, and legal teams to minimize risk and maximize value. Travel within UK/EU is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in energy/power sectors, covering project development, technical, M&A activities, and engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor UK/EU electricity market structures, pricing mechanisms, grid services and price trends.
• Identify and evaluate energy storage opportunities (greenfield, brownfield, co-location) in pre-RTB and RtB stages.
• Manage development workflows: site selection, land acquisition, grid access applications, environmental permits, M&A, inputs into the Financial Model.
• Identify new utility-scale projects via data-driven approaches to target projects and land.
• Oversee land acquisition: direct negotiations and external land agents.
• Represent the company to stakeholders including councils, government, officials and landowners.
• Manage all aspects of the project development process (grid connection, permitting, environmental studies, hearings, stakeholder relations).
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify risks and maximize project value.
• Assist with grid connection processes with technical team and external consultants.
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules, acting as project lead.
