Job summary

Good Energy is seeking a Compliance and Assurance Manager for Retail Energy Supply. You will lead regulatory risk, shape compliance strategies, and drive improvements across the business, reporting to the Head of Information Governance, Risk & Compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep energy regulation knowledge to ensure adherence to industry obligations. You will manage regulatory reporting, incident handling, and risk escalation, while partnering with

Qualifications

• Stakeholder management & influence across senior teams.
• Line management and development of direct reports.
• Solid understanding of energy industry regulatory requirements.
• Experience communicating with external regulators (e.g., Ofgem).
• Leadership of assurance activity within a Three Lines of Defence model.
• Ability to manage complex regulatory change and audits.
• Experience writing policies and operational documents.
• Capability to manage third-party contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide, and align operational teams and senior leaders on regulatory risk.
• Act as main compliance lead for Retail Energy Supply and advise on industry codes.
• Provide line management and development support to direct reports.
• Oversee regulatory reporting submissions for Retail Energy Supply with robust evidence.
• Oversee incident management and risk escalation across Retail Energy Supply.
• Collaborate on regulatory change with Regulatory Affairs for operational impact.
• Own assurance frameworks for high-risk Retail Energy Supply processes.
• Oversee quality assurance to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain policies, processes & controls for sustained compliance.
• Plan and deliver control testing across Retail Energy Supply and manage audit actions.
