Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking an Operation & Maintenance Assistant to support the Battlefield Energy Recovery Facility. You will help operate and maintain plant equipment, manage the waste reception and ash residue areas, and coordinate vehicle movements to keep the site running safely and efficiently on a 40-hour staggered day rota.

Qualifications

• Strong technical ability with a hands-on approach to plant operations and maintenance.
• Safety-conscious teammate who contributes to a well-run facility.
• Confident solver capable of handling day-to-day issues and changing priorities.
• Self-motivated, organised with the ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and computer skills for clear information sharing.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Battlefield Energy Recovery Facility.
• Manage waste reception and ash residue halls for safety and organisation.
• Coordinate vehicle movements and load materials with mobile plant.
• Operate plant refuge cranes following site procedures and safety rules.
• Regularly clean plant and equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
• Carry out plant inspections and readings, sharing data with the operations team.
• Work with the operations shift team; role is 40 hours per week on a staggered day rota.
