Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking an Energy Research Analyst and Partnership Coordinator to join the Energy Capital team. You will help deliver the regional energy strategy and shape policy by coordinating partnerships across local authorities, universities, and industry to drive measurable progress toward net zero by 2041.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Energy sector or a related sector is essential.
• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Confident communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive mindset and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather intelligence on partner activities, identify synergies, and enable joint working across sectors.
• Create data-led reports, briefings, and visualisations supporting strategic planning and policy work.
• Share success stories, best practice, and boost the region's net zero innovation profile.
• Contribute to regional devolution asks and national policy recommendations to unlock powers and funding.
• Coordinate networking sessions and communications that bring data and strategy to life.
