Job summary

The Town of Acton is seeking an enthusiastic Outreach Specialist to lead community engagement that expands access to energy efficiency programs and strengthens Town communication. This grant-funded role focuses on equity, sustainability, and effective public outreach.

Primary duties include serving as Energy Advocate under CFP, building connections with residents and small businesses, and coordinating messaging across digital and print platforms. Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in community outreach, public engagement or public communication.
• Experience with diverse populations and communicating CFP program options.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organized and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Lead community engagement to expand access to energy efficiency programs.
• Support town-wide communication and public messaging across channels.
• Coordinate events, partnerships, and outreach activities; occasional evenings/weekends.
