Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to support the Energy Networks portfolio in the UK. The role focuses on governance, delivery strategy, and portfolio planning across substations, converter stations, and transmission projects.

The position is part-time, about three days per week, with hybrid working. You will coach project leaders, manage risk and ensure alignment with client requirements and internal standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in programme, portfolio and/or project management within the transmission and distribution sector.
• Demonstrable experience delivering FEED, detailed design or engineering consultancy projects.
• Strong understanding of project controls, portfolio management, resource planning and delivery governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification in Project Management and/or Engineering.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project financial performance and governance.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to coach, mentor and develop project teams.

• Portfolio Planning & Governance: Develop portfolio delivery strategy and consolidated forecasts.
• Project Delivery Excellence: Establish delivery strategies, governance, and performance metrics.
