Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Analyst to join our strategy and market intelligence team in Randburg. The role focuses on researching, forecasting, and communicating energy sector trends to support strategic decisions.

You will analyze market dynamics, regulatory changes, and technological advances, delivering high-quality insights to senior leadership. A data-driven mindset and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
Minimum 4 years of energy market analysis, consulting or strategic research.
Strong analytical skills with statistical modeling and data analysis tools.
Excellent understanding of energy markets, technologies and policy frameworks.
Superior written and verbal communication; data visualization experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on energy trends, renewables, generation and grid infrastructure.
Develop detailed forecasts for energy supply, demand and pricing using quantitative and qualitative data.
Prepare reports, presentations and dashboards for senior management.
Monitor policy, regulatory and economic developments impacting energy markets.
Identify opportunities and risks within the energy landscape.
Collaborate with departments to provide data-driven insights for planning and growth.
