The Role

We are looking for a proactive Energy Manager who can deliver energy cost management and generate carbon reduction schemes that will contribute to the Coventry University Group's target of Net Zero Carbon by 2030.

Working with the Deputy Head of Sustainability, you will actively seek new projects, efficiency schemes, and embrace innovation in energy and carbon management, implementing this on-site. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys actively embracing innovation and translating these into results, as well as collaborating with maintenance colleagues, project teams, and others across the Group to improve current practices.

The Group Decarbonisation Plan is central to this role and outlines our strategic commitments to reducing emissions across a large and diverse organization.

Our Successful Candidate

• Possesses an appropriate degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Has experience in evaluating and implementing renewables, including producing business cases and feasibility assessments.
• Demonstrates performance in leading and enhancing energy management in large, complex organizations.
• Knowledge of low/zero carbon technologies and application of no/low carbon specifications for building projects.
• Experience delivering carbon reduction programs within large organizations, with knowledge of energy markets and utilities financial management.
• Skilled in identifying energy and carbon efficiency projects and knowledgeable about legislative requirements related to energy and carbon.
