Job summary

Stantec in Newcastle is recruiting for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our expanding Energy team on the 2027 Graduate Programme. You will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team delivering civil design for transmission and distribution projects nationwide, with a focus on grid infrastructure.

You will support FEED and detailed design stages and gain exposure to substations, OHL works, interconnectors, and associated civil works while contributing to renewable energy developments

Qualifications

Analytical mindset to apply civil engineering principles to complex infrastructure.
Strong written and verbal communication across multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

Assist civil engineering design for grid infrastructure including substations, OHL works, interconnectors, and grid connections.
Support development of enabling infrastructure, energy buildings, protection systems and associated civil works for power networks.
Contribute to renewable energy projects such as Energy from Waste, hydropower and pumped storage.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to produce drawings, calculations and design documentation.
