Job summary

Vital Energi seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the Port Clarence biomass facility in Teesside. You will support the Maintenance Manager and Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation, including planned maintenance, outage planning, and routine checks of boilers, turbines, and handling equipment.

Ideal candidates have an engineering background and at least 5 years in energy-from-waste or power generation, with IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.

Qualifications

• OND/HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or other technical disciplines, ideally related to power generation.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the power generation environment, Energy from Waste, or similar industry.
• IOSH Managing Safely general certificate or similar safety qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping standards on site.
• Comply with company rules, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and participate in investigations of accidents or near misses to eliminate unsafe practices.
• Support outage planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting to meet annual O&M plan objectives.
• Assist with developing work scopes and outage plans based on standard scopes and defects.
