Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Principal/Technical Director level environmental consultant to join the energy team and drive growth. The role focuses on environmental direction for energy network projects, nuclear, and renewables, including grid connections, large scale transmission, distribution, and pipelines.

You will lead bid activity and engage with clients to secure new work. The role requires leading multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring staff, and ensuring high environmental

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the environment and consent team for large linear projects in the energy sector.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate environmental considerations in project development.
• Support contractors in meeting environmental requirements and approvals.
• Provide leadership and guidance for project teams and deliverables.
• Direct projects and manage client relationships and sub-consultants.
• Approve technical and commercial aspects of proposals and bids.
• Contribute to the growth strategy and business plan execution.
• Travel as required to project sites and client meetings.
