Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs seeks a numerate commercial professional to own project models for opportunities in generation, BESS, and flexible load, including capex/opex, IRR, and downside cases. Develop standard assumptions to support a growing pipeline.

You will price offers by converting load profiles into tariff/PPAs and other structures, and quantify how risk is allocated. Analyze network charges, storage value, and market services while creating investor-ready materials.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a numerate commercial role in infra or renewables.
• Financial modelling from first principles (DCF, IRR, scenarios).
• Advanced knowledge of GB/European power markets and network costs.
• Advanced Excel and Python.
• Able to take a messy problem to a clear recommendation.
• Quantitative degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the project model for each opportunity - generation, BESS, flexible load, network cost; capex, opex, revenue stack, IRR, downside cases.
• Price the offer by translating load profiles into tariff, PPA, tolling or availability-based structures.
• Value the flex by modeling storage and flexible load across wholesale and market services.
• Develop the business case with internal/external presentations for proposals to final investment decisions.
• Track the portfolio, monitor market and regulatory changes, support term sheets and diligence.
