Job summary

Balfour Beatty Group in Scotland is seeking a Project Manager to lead civil/energy packages from Elgin on the BBNP project. You will govern schedules, budgets, and risk while coordinating with electrical and site teams to deliver complex infrastructure safely and on time.

You will manage resources, mentor teams, and drive continuous improvement through strong commercial and contract oversight. This role offers stability on a nationally significant project.

Qualifications

• Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery.
• Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts.
• Proficient in commercial/project management communications.
• Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation.
• Commercially astute.

Responsibilities

• Governance: Hold periodic project reviews and update records per GBL.
• Governance: Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries, etc.).
• Governance: Prepare internal and external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
• Analytical Thinking & Decision Making: Develop scope and information/configuration management principles.
• Analytical Thinking & Decision Making: Ensure reports support informed, cost-effective decisions.
• Analytical Thinking & Decision Making: Align scope and package assignment for coordinated work.
• Health Safety & Environmental: Maintain Zero Harm focus and stay updated on legislation.
• Health Safety & Environmental: Ensure safety and welfare of the public, employees and supply chain.
• Health Safety & Environmental: Conduct Safety & Environmental Tours and investigations.
• Health Safety & Environmental: Monitor H&S system and drive improvements.
• Resources & Development: Develop and update resource allocation plans.
• Leadership/Line Management: Create team plans; foster high performing teams and mentor.
• Risk, Issue & Opportunity: Lead risk/opportunity reviews; present Risk Register.

• Procurement & Supply Chain: Manage subcontractors and procurement plans to meet deadlines.
