Birmingham Community Action Network (BCAN): Energy Programme is funded by the Energy Redress scheme, focused on the North-west Birmingham area in partnership with a consortium of voluntary sector organizations. Nishkam Civic Association is a key member of BCAN and the delivery partner for the Energy Redress Scheme.
The service will deliver energy Advice & Advocacy services and further develop the capacity of beneficiaries, with a focus on self-help and energy literacy, especially within marginalized communities.
This will be achieved by working closely with communities in community locations and the Nishkam Centre to create a sustainable Energy Support Hub.
The main purpose of the job is to provide:
Build on existing partnerships to support vulnerable people impacted by fuel and cost-of-living crises.
Manage and deliver a caseload of energy advice-related casework, including:

Highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Understanding of supporting and interviewing vulnerable clients regarding fuel poverty

Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Strong relationship-building skills, even under challenging circumstances
