Enfield are looking to recruit experienced Youth Mentors to join our newly established integrated multi-agency wrap around Family Help Hub and Enduring Relationships Hub.
Youth Mentors Full -Time Salary Range SO2 £41,511 - £43,449
The Family Help Youth Mentors and Enduring Relationships Youth Mentors will deliver targeted and time-bound relationship-based, strengths-led youth mentoring interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary Hub, supporting young people aged 10-18 where emerging or escalating needs are identified.
Working alongside social workers, family help lead practitioners and partner agencies, the postholder will contribute to single, whole-family plans, ensuring the voice, experience and needs of young people are central to assessment, planning and intervention.
The Youth Mentors will work directly with young people (with an allocated caseworker in either the family help teams (Family Help Youth Mentor) or the children in care/leaving care teams (Enduring Relationships Youth Mentor)) who may resist engagement by positively engaging them in personalised and targeted youth work.
The Youth Mentors will provide a wide range of youth work interventions to support children including advocacy, mentoring, provision of information, advice and guidance, positive and enrichment activities and harm reduction advice and interventions.
The Youth Mentors will develop and maintain a professional relationship based on trust with the aim of helping children to aspire to achieving positive outcomes by reducing participation in risky behaviour, reducing likelihood of entering care, preventing placement breakdown and supporting positive reunification home from care.
We are looking for enthusiastic, able and experienced youth mentors who can demonstrate a good understanding of the diverse needs of children and show experience of being involved in applying a strength-based approach to supporting individual children to empower and affect change.
