Job summary

The Elliot 1 Day Surgery Center in Manchester, NH, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support the endoscopy team and assist the endoscopist in performing safe procedures with optimal patient outcomes.

You will facilitate throughput during admission, procedure, and recovery phases, assist with various endoscopy tasks, and manage room turnover and equipment cleaning and disinfection. NH licensure and BLS timing are required or anticipated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire is required, unless other current NH state license is held.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred at time of hire; OR completion of BLS certification within thirty (30) days of hire required.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant experience in an Endoscopy setting or Surgical Technician with experience in an Endoscopy setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates throughput during admission, procedural, and recovery phases.
• Assists under the direct supervision of the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound procedures, ERCP, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, esophageal dilations, specimen collection, and other related duties.
• Responsible for turnover of procedure rooms and admission/recovery areas.
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge in the manual and automated cleaning process of scopes. Adheres to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Documents processing appropriately.
• Maintains an adequate supply level in procedure rooms, utility rooms, and office areas. Ensures the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient, effective, and safe patient throughput. Monitors for outdated equipment/supplies.
• Returns endoscopes and equipment to the appropriate storage place, cleans, and ensures transport of certain items to the Sterile Processing Department. Utilizes appropriate chemicals for disinfection. Verifies and monitors the shelf life of disinfectants.
